An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work in our Mental Health Liaison Service.

The Arden Mental Health Acute Team (AMHAT) provide a rapid bio-psychosocial assessment and advice service for adults who present to A&E or who are inpatients on medical wards.

The clinical context of Mental Health Liaison practice is complex, and every day brings a new challenge.

We are seeking an adaptable and flexible Assistant Psychologist who wishes to develop their skills within an Urgent Care Setting and focus on the interplay between physical and mental health.

Urgent Care Assistant Psychologist Posts


Please note that there are exciting Assistant Psychologist positions being advertised across Urgent Care Services (CIOT, AMHAT, and AMHAT ASSURED research study).

All applicants will be considered for all of these posts because the services work closely together, and interviews are being held across 3 days for the 3 posts.

Please note that your preference will be asked for if invited to interview.


The post holder will work alongside the Principal Clinical Psychologist to support and enhance the psychological care of patients within the service.

They will also support multidisciplinary team members to deliver outpatient follow up appointments in line with Core 24 Guidance.

Psychology is seen as a valuable resource across our Urgent Care teams, and you will receive robust supervision and line management support, from within Acute Psychological Services, as well as support to develop your career and portfolio of skills.

Many of our staff are part-time and work flexibly, and CWPT has recently launched a supportive new flexible working policy.
