Qualitair Aviation are excited to be recruiting a Ground Operations & Security NP Manager to join one of our rapidly expanding Clients in sunny Malta


The Ground Operations and Security Nominated Person's job is to guarantee that all the ground activities are performed in full compliance with the standards and regulations set by Aviation Authority and in accordance with the efficiency requirements setby the Company.


Responsibilities:

  • Define the contracts with the Ground Handling companies of the airports served by the Company.
  • Ensure that quality and safety standards referring to ground operation fleet processes are being satisfied according to what specified by EASA regulations and IATA recommendations.
  • Guarantee the ongoing updating of the GOM (Ground Operation Manual) and the ALM, its distribution and its subsequent revisions.
  • Ensure the monitoring of all procedures and services performed at stations, checking their correct execution on site.
  • Ensure a liaison with the handling agents and providers (for operations of ground handling folder, balancing, loading, ramp, catering, de icing, parking, fueling, etc.)
  • Ensure the technical training of the Company personnel involved with ground operations.
  • The compilation of aircraft loads and trim data
  • Ensure that adequate ULD stock is available at all stations, maintaining proper and up to date inventory control;
  • Ensure that company complies with the CAA, TSA, and other relevant security requirements
  • Ensure ground operations and security are run in compliance with all applicable standards and regulatory requirements, including those from foreign countries authorities where operations are conducted, as well as internal policies and procedures
  • Performance of security audits when deemed appropriate (in coordination with the CMM);
  • Manage manpower at the station, including manpower allocation, workhours, monitoring authority etc
  • Establish and maintain the standards in the security department and ensure that adequate procedures and training are available to the staff according to their relative job functions ;
  • Responsible for the security clearance of Company employees as required by law;
  • Prepare for and support all required internal and external audits

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Operational and Security positions, in Cargo Airline/ Freight Forwarder companies
  • Deep Knowledge of EASA Regulation, National and International Security Program
  • Strategic thinker with successful Operational and Security vision, execution, and implementation capabilities.
  • Proven ability to influence crossfunctional teams across the globe
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the applicable EU safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures
  • Familiarity with management systems preferably in the area of aviation
  • Appropriate management experience, preferably in a comparable organisation
