Prepare patients for CT MRI US scans including cannulate

Prepare patients for scrub and assist in CVC (Hickman Line ) insertion.

Prepare patients for and assist in IPC drainage insertions including scrub.

Prepare patients for and assist in US CT or MRI guided biopsies.

Manage stores, consumables, laundry and waste within Radiology

Perform basic patient observations when required.

The care and wellbeing of patients while in Radiology department.

Reassure inform and communicate effectively with patients while in Radiology

Reassure inform and communicate effectively with relatives and escorting friends of patients while in Radiology

Previous NHS experience desirable but more importantly a caring and empathic nature.

Basic nursing skills or experience in personal care situation advantageous.

Ability to perform basic nursing tasks (observations recognition of significant clinical deterioration) an advantage.


Use the ISO non compliance reporting system or DATIX incident reporting systems to report any and all incidents, discrepancies, failures, accidents, errors, omissions or wrongful commissions, breaches, illegal acts and importantly near misses.

Use the same systems to record evidence of good and innovative practice.

Assist staff in patient manual handling by the most appropriate use of devices, assistance and appropriate techniques.

Using ANTT techniques

Prepare patients for CT MRI scans including cannulate

Prepare patients for and assist in CVC (Hickman Line ) insertion including surgical ANTT scrub

Prepare patients for and assist in IPC drainage insertions

Prepare patients for and assist in US CT or MRI guided biopsies

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Participate in clinical and managerial audit, ISO accreditation, data collection and other quality systems

Conduct and maintain CPD appropriate to grade and duties and maintain accurate and timely records.


Engage in PADR, objective setting and performance management at the direction of the line manager, in accordance with trust, division, department policies and professional guidelines.

Maintain the clinical consumables store rooms efficiently, tidily and cleanly in accordance with trust policy, current guidelines and recommendations

Re-order suitable quantities of consumables in a timely efficient manner ensuring adequate provision, resilience and cost effectiveness.

Maintain equipment in clean usable condition and inform professional staff of shortfalls and discrepancies.

Test and record as appropriate that equipment is functioning as intended and report any that have deficiencies, discrepancies or are out of calibrated tolerances as detailed by the professional staff

Maintain accurate and timely records on any and all IT and paper based systems as used by the trust
