Position Overview
To help coordinate an amazing activity and excursion programme for international

English language students aged 12-17 in the UK.

We are seeking to appoint our teams of Activity Leaders to ensure the delivery of our programmes in our Summer School in the United Kingdom for 2023.

Role Information


As an Activity Leader your role is to engage and motivate young people to have the time of their lives whilst living abroad.

You will have a great support team around you working with other Activity Leaders and Teachers under the supervision of the Activity Coordinator and Centre Manager.


Activity Leaders have the opportunity to live on campus for the duration of the course and we make sure you have your own room and all meals.

Student wellbeing is our main priority, and you will be the first point of contact, making sure students feel safe and happy every day.


You must be confident, friendly, and enthusiastic as you guide students on local and regional excursions and provide information about the attractions they are enjoying.


Key Responsibilities


As an Activity Leader you are responsible for entertaining, guiding, planning and leading the students through a variety of activities, which you will both lead and partake in.

Duties include taking part and leading activities which take place on and off site. In addition, you will be responsible for residential supervision such as at meal times and pastoral duties.

Summer centres are very busy places and there may be duties to perform in addition to those detailed below:

  • To ensure adequate preparation & set up for on/offsite activities and excursions
  • Lead, supervise, motivate & engage students on activities and excursions, through active participation yourself
  • Proactively encouraging the children to take part in planned activities both during the day and in the evenings
  • Preparing full activity plans for each activity and ensuring that you have read all the risk assessments. To assist in the organisation and preparation of a wide range of activities, including during the day, evenings, weekend excursions and pastoral duties
  • To participate in, supervise and lead all activities including sports

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

  • Level of spoken and written English equivalent to CEFR level B2 or above
  • Interested in, and able to organise activities
  • Able to adapt quickly to change and be flexible
  • Able to motivate and encourage large groups of students
  • Able to address large groups of young people
  • Able to sustain long periods of physical activity

Desirable

  • Current First Aid certificate**:
  • Previous summer school experience
  • Experience of working with kids/teens

Working Hours
Activity Leaders are expected to work 35 hours per week, 6 days a week including Saturday. Sunday is free
