Reports to : PREP Director

Job Description

Summary/objective

Responsible for running participant sessions, addressing medical issues as they arise on the fitness floor, and coordinating the medical assessment portion of the program. In addition, the Nurse is expected, from time to time, to provide general nursing care within the facility and at other club events.

Essential functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Maintain expert level knowledge in all aspects of the acac medical and wellness programs and successfully execute programs for each participant
  • Follow program protocols for participants, including performing assessments as needed
  • Develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with program participants and club members
  • Schedule and lead sessions for participants
  • Motivate participants to adhere to their exercise programs using follow up calls and e-mails
  • Demonstrate proper operation of fitness equipment, such as resistance machines, cardio machines, free weights, or fitness assessment devices
  • File Incident Reports for any injuries/incidents that occur at the facility, with follow up as necessary
  • Make sure medical emergency equipment and first aid supplies are stocked and up to date
  • Review emergency medical situations and team response with departments as needed

Requirements

Physical demands

  • Must have full range of motion in order to properly demonstrate exercises or use of machines
  • Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
  • Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Required competencies, education, and experience

  • Must have a valid state Registered Nursing License
  • Current certification from nationally recognized fitness organization preferred
  • Must be exceptionally customer service oriented
  • Must be friendly and approachable
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Proficient computer skills

  • Facility cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the facility
  • Assist with Service Days
  • Willingness to assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your department

  • Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
  • Deliver outstanding service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, a pleasant demeanor at all times

Salary

  • Hourly - based on years of experience and certifications
