INTENSIVE NEEDS NIGHT SUPPORT WORKER

Job Type - Permanent/Part-Time

Hours - 36 hours per week (3-week rolling rota, 4 shifts off, 4 shifts on, 10pm - 8.15am)

Salary - £19,809 per annum including £1300 Unsociable Hours allowance pro-rata (increasing to £20,675 from 01/04/2023)

Our services in Lincolnshire help vulnerable young people, who are homeless or are threatened with homelessness, to live independently. Our aim is to inspire the young people we support to be ambitious and embrace new opportunities.

This role sits within our Intensive Needs team in Lincoln.

The Team provides 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 support to Young People in their own home who present with complex needs and behaviours including but not limited to substance misuse, self harm, verbal aggression and past trauma.

This is the role every support worker dreams of, no big case load, just focused time with 1 or 2 Young People allowing us to really make a different to the lives of those we support.

Please note this role does not deliver personal care.

Key responsibilities

  • To be the first point of contact for each young person within a positive and empowering service, delivering direct support within their home environment.
  • To implement safety plans as and when required.
  • To ensure robust recording of activities.
  • To contribute to meeting the overall SMART action plans of the Young Person.
  • To respond to challenging behaviours in a professional mannert and calmly in a solution focused way.
  • To support and encourage the young person to be a 'good neighbour' by promptly addressing any noise, visitor, ASB issues.
  • To ensure that all accommodation is safe by completing cleaning duties.
  • To report as necessary any serious incidents including taking action when young people are missing from placement to include contacting children services and police

What we want from you

  • Knowledge of working with individuals that experience complex learning difficulties, challenging behaviours and mental health disorders.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and positive behavioural support.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually as all shifts are lone working, but also to be able to work with others to build a safe and effective team around the individual as and when required.

as ocassionaly there may be a requirement to work in the community and/ or service setting/ at other hub locations within Lincolnshire._
