Sessional Assistant Project Worker job description_

Sessional Assistant Project Workers will:

  • Support children and young people to contribute to the realisation of the Investing in Children vision.
  • Support children and young peopleto share their view and evidence good practice through their dialogue with services and the change that has happened as a result.
  • Support any further recommendations children and young people have for continued service improvements.

Purpose of the role is to:

  • work directly within our Project Rights Team supporting the delivery of a range of group work sessions with children and young people who access our services.
- be involved in facilitating sessions supporting children and young people to engage in discussions and activities.
- work with partner agencies helping them to create opportunities for dialogue with children and young people and communities.
- be able to co-produce, co-present programmes and/or presentations (e.g. assemblies, PSHE lessons, lunchtime/event stands) in educational and community settings.
- inspire and build positive relationships with young people.
- ensure all sessions and activities are accessible and inclusive.
- ensure good record keeping of time and effective planning.
- support the facilitation and delivery bespoke sessions in safe spaces for all children and young people, including in the community, in schools and other venues.
- ensure the health, well-being and safety needs of the young people are met at all times in line with Investing in Children policies and procedures.
- ensure all policies and procedures and administration tasks are completed accurately and within allocated time scales including handling personal data, safeguarding reporting, and risk assessments.


This is not comprehensive or an exclusive list and duties may be varied from time to time, all work undertaken will be negotiated.
