Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Shape services to support women's choices in birth
  • Complete preceptorship programme and achieve midwifery competencies
  • Receive guidance and support from our practice education team
  • Participate in midwifery training provided by our Multidisciplinary Training Faculty

Our healthcare facility in Shropshire boasts a modern Consultant Unit and a purpose-built Midwife-led unit at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. With approximately 4,500 births annually, we are committed to improving maternity services in alignment with national ambitions.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • NMC Registered Midwife
  • Practice Supervisor and Assessor Training
  • Evidence of CPD

Desirable:

  • Examination of the Newborn (NIPE) qualification
  • Leadership course
  • Management course

Experience:

Essential:

  • Completed band 5 Midwifery Preceptorship Programme
  • Developed extended clinical skills
  • Strong communication abilities

Desirable:

  • Experience across various clinical practice areas

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:

  • Understanding of NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Clinical experience in relevant areas
  • Proficiency in electronic records and IT systems
