The Job

Join our team as a Quality Inspector and play a crucial role in ensuring that all ATL products meet our company's high standards through meticulous inspection and pressure testing at different production stages.

Job Role:

As a Quality Inspector, your main responsibility will be to carry out thorough pressure tests and inspections on all ATL products, including goods in inspection. Any issues you identify should be promptly reported to either a Quality Engineer or Quality Supervisor.

Main Duties:

  • Inspect and pressure test various parts, including machined, fabricated, electrical, and composite components, and promptly report any identified issues.
  • Handle the inspection, marking, and processing of Bladders from Cell Production to Final Assembly, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Label inspected parts and keep detailed records in our ERP system and MS Excel logs.
  • Collaborate with other departments for buddy checks and support when needed.
  • Perform derivative testing on raw material samples based on detailed work instructions.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to drive continuous improvement initiatives department-wide.
  • Ensure that Quality Control requirements in all production areas are met by collaborating with the Quality department.
  • Utilize hand metrology equipment for quality control purposes.
  • Generate inspection reports for items needing First Article Inspection.
  • Maintain critical logs in the QMS system, including FIA serial numbers and bond viscosity records.
  • Evaluate customer returned bladders for repair or recertification.
  • Report Internal and Supplier rejects promptly.
  • Escalate any identified issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to environmentally sustainable practices outlined in our environmental policy.
  • Seek opportunities to minimize waste and energy consumption in line with our environmental objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of a pass in GCSE English & Maths.
  • An engineering qualification would be beneficial for this role.

Experience:

  • At least one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Familiarity with basic & electronic metrology equipment.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 QMS and BS EN9102 reporting is advantageous but not essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with TS/VDA standards and relevant FIA regulations & standards is beneficial.
