We are delighted to be working with a global wealth asset manager based in the heart of Central London.

This is an urgent interim role that would support the wider accounting team on SOX control and technical accounting, internal controls and compliance.


JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Assistant Controller to work alongside the Firm's Global Controller.

This individual will be involved in all finance related activities, including oversight of financial and regulatory audits and financial reporting across several entities.

The role will interface with numerous internal and external teams and will partner with the Chief Financial Officer and Global Controller to advise the company's business units and leadership team on accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.


  • Assist in the preparation of the company's quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements that are filed with the SEC (Forms 10Q and 10K)
  • Assist in the management of the global audit process
  • Work collaboratively with business unit accounting teams to review monthly financial reporting packages, internal controls, and significant accounting policies/emerging accounting guidance
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance internal controls compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and continuously improve the efficiency of financial operations
  • Analyze corporate financial performance, including historical analysis and live trends
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for the leadership team
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Work closely with business unit accounting teams on the implementation and integration of a global ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system, MIS (Management Information System) and other financial reporting, operating and control systems
  • Perform technical accounting research and analysis for significant accounting policies, such as revenue recognition and capitalization/expense analysis, as well as for potential mergers/acquisitions, including purchase price allocations, goodwill, and intangible assets

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Qualified Accountant, ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent
  • 46 years post qualification experience
  • Proficiency with general ledger software & systems experience with NetSuite is preferred
  • Experience with implementation of a new/upgraded general ledger software is preferred
  • Experience working in an internal accounting team of an asset management/wealth management company, publicly traded company preferred
  • Experience working in a global organisation and involvement with consolidation of financial statements is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with the design, implementation and testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) is preferred
