Being a Solution Architect within the Architecture Team at Santander Services means you'll have the chance to collaborate closely with various architecture teams (Enterprise, Cloud, Technical, Data & Security Architecture) within Santander UK and globally. You will contribute to sharing reusable patterns, innovating new solutions, and keeping Santander competitive.

The impact you'll have:

  • Utilize your expertise in domain and Decision Driven Design, leveraging frameworks like BIAN, TOGAF, ArchiMate, and API & microservice architecture solutions to create Solution Design Documents (SDD) using tools such as Avolution Abacus
  • Take ownership of end-to-end Solution Architecture, collaborating with other architecture disciplines and aligning with Domain Enterprise Architecture Strategy
  • Document complex As-Is/Transition/Target Architectures linked to associated roadmaps
  • Establish and maintain Strategy/Roadmaps, aligning stakeholders across technologies and business areas globally
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Digital/API/Micro-Services/Big Data/AWS/Azure/Cloud Architecture and relevant software packages
  • Manage migration from legacy technologies to new ones and eliminate obsolescence

Your qualifications:

  • Experience in IT Systems Design and Solutions Architecture within Financial Institutions, Retail, or Corporate sectors with expertise in Financial Crime or other regulated industry risk control frameworks
  • Ability to create practical architectures aligned with IT principles/standards, following governance
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for complex concepts
  • Proven experience in influencing diverse stakeholders

Key details:

This permanent role is based in Milton Keynes with the expectation of at least some office presence each week. Flexible arrangements are available to support work-life balance.
