Do you have experience in working with pupils with challenging behaviour? Are you a confident sports coach? Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the East Nottinghamshire area (NG13) who are looking to appoint a sports & learning mentor to work across their KS2 cohort.

The role is full time and initially on a fixed term contract from Sept 2023 The hours of work are 8:30-4:00 and working days are Monday to Friday.


The main duties within this role will be:

Working closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviourLeading sports sessions at break and lunchtimesProviding 1:1 support to children in class Using sports as a way to mentor childrenDe-escalating situations where children have showed extreme behavioursLeading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels Assisting the class teacher with the set up of lessons Liaising with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of the pupils The school are looking for someone who: Holds a TA qualification or relevant degreeHolds at least one sports based qualificationHas had either TeamTeach training or MAPA Training (Desirable not essential)Previously supported children with challenging behavioursHas an understanding of supporting SEN pupils Can inspire pupils to reach their full potential The application for this role ends on 23rd June.
