Day Shift 6am - 6pm, 3 shifts per week + banked hours (Continental Shift with weekend working)
Reports to Manufacturing Shift Manager
This role is responsible for ensuring the production cell is actively engaged to meet daily customer TAT while driving productivity and continuous improvement. The Team Leader enhances performance through process improvement, provides effective training to the production cell, ensures outputs and processes are consistent across the team and other shifts while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Shift Manager and Team Leaders to manage staffing assignments to meet customer demand and production targets.
- Coordinate employee training to ensure procedures meet quality requirements.
- Implement measures, monitor performance, report progress, and take corrective action when necessary.
- Attend daily production meetings, fill gaps in resources, and prioritize work requirements.
- Drive problem-solving efforts to meet deadlines and ensure smooth operations.
- Address quality, equipment, and process issues promptly to maintain standards.
- Work with various support staff to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Monitor staff performance, update metrics, and facilitate team communication.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to optimize manufacturing functions.
- Ensure safety compliance and participate in health and safety programs.
- Perform additional duties as needed by the management team.
Performance Measures
- Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People KPIs.
- Customer feedback and achievement of personal targets.
- Feedback from colleagues and profit/loss performance evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' warehouse experience in a high-volume environment.
- Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience.
- Experience with Warehouse/Production/Distribution Management Systems.
Education:
- GSCE/A level education required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- FMCG experience and proven team leadership skills.
- Experience in modern manufacturing and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- High drive, commitment, and resilience.
- Ability to work well in teams and build relationships.
- Organized, analytical, and self-motivated.
Essential Physical Demands:
- Walking, standing, lifting, and pushing as required in a warehouse setting.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and ability to operate industrial equipment.
