Bookkeeper/vat Clerk

We are an established accountancy practice who provide the full array of accounting services including bookkeeping, payroll services, preparing accounts for limited companies and sole traders as well as personal tax returns and VAT returns.

This position would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper/VAT Clerk who is looking for a fresh start in a new and challenging position>

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

There is free on-site parking available for those who drive, and 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, with flexible working hours over Christmas.


Typical day to day duties:

- preparing VAT returns
- resolve client VAT queries
- posting invoices onto software
- reconciling bank on software

  • VAT administration
  • Assisting clients in the use of various software packages notably Xero
- ad-hoc duties as required

  • Client bookkeeping
- minimum 1 years' experience of VAT experience

  • AAT qualification would be advantageous
- previous experience with Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Kashflow and office management software like Microsoft Office (namely Word & Excel)
- strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
