Job summary

Are you a compassionate, friendly and efficient receptionist, ideally with experience working in the NHS or healthcare setting? We are seeking to recruit you to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Admin Teambased at Eaglestone Health Centre in Milton Keynes.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for providing essential administrative support to the team including:

Staffing our reception desk Being a helpful and empathetic first point of contact for children, young people and families Data Entry and support Answering phones and taking messages Your work will be a key part of the quality of our service, and of our patients' experience. You will need to demonstrate the ability to deal with members of the public, clinical staff and partners, and to help resolve simple issues.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To provide an efficient, effective and high-quality clerical and reception support to the MK Specialist CAMHS team in Eaglestone Health Centre. To act as front of house and receive, assist, and direct various patients, staff, and visitors to appropriate services.

To provide general assistance and support basic administrative needs of the service. The postholder will be expected to work closely and in synergy with the wider admin teams in Core CAMHS, LIST and ADHD.

Qualifications

Essential

oQualified to a basic level in Maths and English or a willingness to develop and learn capabilities to meet this requirement oA practical knowledge of administrative and information systems or demonstrated commitment to learn these and adapt them to provide administrative support to a manager or a clinician

Desirable

oGCSE (A* - C) or equivalent in Maths and English

Experience

Essential

oExperience of working in a customer care setting or a role that demonstrates transferable skills. oExperience of dealing with the general public oAbility to deal with queries, checking information with managers staff and patients and communicating information verbally and in writing oDemonstrable experience of resolving queries, locating information, or supporting with oprocess issues, escalating issues when necessary

Desirable

oExperience working in a reception environment oExperience of working in a healthcare setting oKnowledge of administrative systems - if not already able to demonstrate this will need to show commitment for these skills to be developed

Skills

Essential

oDemonstrable knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, MS Teams and Excel oAccurate data entry skills oExcellent written and verbal communication skills oAble to work to a high level of accuracy and with attention to detail oAbility to work unsupervised oAbility to work within a team
