Engineering & Projects Manager

If you see the opportunity in every challenge and you're always striving to make progress, that's exactly why we need you in our Engineering team within National Gas Metering (NGM).
As an Engineering Project Manager at NGM, you will be responsible for providing robust and safe metering systems for our customers within an allocated geographical area (East Mids, East Anglia, West Mids or North East).
This will include undertaking end consumer meetings, liaising within NGM's service partners and asset suppliers and working closely with your colleagues in the Engineering Team and within other areas of NGM.
You will be dynamic and adaptive to managing multiple projects within your area to meet our customer needs by providing the most suitable engineering solution.
You will possess strong project management and communication skills and promote team working; You will look ahead and suggest future investment and innovation opportunities for our operational metering portfolio to influence positive change whilst also being responsible for evaluating investment requirements against condition, risk and whole life costs of an installation.
Within this role you will be required to participate in a 24/7 standby rota.
To be successful in this role it would be beneficial for you to have sound knowledge on MP, IP, HP gas installations, a good understanding of UK legislation and knowledge of the wider gas industry standards applicable and to hold or have held appropriate 'Gas Safe' and SCO qualifications.
You must have a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel within your geographic area as well as occasionally outside of designated area.
NGM is a home based organisation, however we expect our teams to meet face to face multiple times a year at various geographic locations.
