Summary

Would you like a new challenge in an outstanding Special School, working with a range of needs in a friendly and supportive environment, committed to developing staff? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant 3 interested in developing their career.

Previous experience of working in a special needs setting is not essential as we are looking for an individual that is passionate about working with children and is willing to support our vision.

We currently have 158 children on roll aged between 4 and 11 years. The position will be Monday-Friday, 32.5 hours a week and term time only.

You will join a team that is passionately committed to harnessing the educational potential of all our children whilst encouraging them to engage in daily life with increased confidence, self-esteem and independence.

At Elm Tree we believe that good staff wellbeing is essential for cultivating a mentally healthy school, for retaining and motivating staff and for promoting pupil wellbeing and attainment.

We now have a staff mental health and wellbeing team who hold termly meetings to promote wellbeing across school.

Examples of this includes, random acts of kindness days, Secret Santa, 'thank you' board in the staff room and bingo/quiz nights.

Due to most of our children travelling to get to school, we run our own transport.

We currently have 15 minibuses and numerous taxis that we use daily to get our children to and from school.

On each of our vehicles, we have a member of staff supervising the children.
