UHP Jetting Operative/Yard Operative

NORM Solutions specialises in the receipt and decontamination of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM). NORM Solutions was formed in 2012 after the need for a technically advanced, responsive and customer focused NORM decontamination facility was identified. The wholly owned ASCO company provides an unrivalled, all-in-one NORM management and treatment service.
Reporting to the Operations Manager as part of a small close-knit team, the primary purpose of this role is to safely dismantle and clean NORM contaminated equipment in line with relevant legislation, Company procedures and manufacturer's guidelines.
Roles & Responsibilities for this role include:
- Ultra High-Pressure Jetting of offshore equipment and operating the automated tubular process.
- Forklift operations: loading, unloading and transferring equipment.
- Stripping down materials and reducing them in size to facilitate cleaning (includes valves and other oil and gas equipment)
- Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities, both documented and computerised.
- Ensuring equipment is maintained in accordance with operating procedures.
- Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping at all times
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the business, promoting a positive image of the Company through first class service delivery and Customer engagement.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.
- Continuously promoting a pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring full participation and compliance.
- Proactively assisting colleagues and undertaking ad hoc duties as required, including unloading equipment from containers, conducting preventative maintenance, daily equipment checks, etc.
- Once fully trained there may be opportunities to provide Radiation Protection Supervisor duties onshore & offshore.
Minimum Qualifications - Counterbalance Forklift
- UHP Water Jetting Certification
- Abrasive Wheels / HAV Certification
- Hot Cutting Certificate
Desirable Qualifications/Competencies - Minimum Industry Safety Training Standard (MIST)
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
- Multi-directional Forklift (5 Tonnes)
- Experience of oil and gas industry
- Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) trained
Additional training will be provided for the right candidate. This role will be ideally suited to a safety focused individual with some mechanical aptitude, who is seeking the opportunity to develop and progress within the company. Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do at ASCO this includes wearing the appropriate PPE. It is currently a requirement to be clean shaven whilst wearing protective respirator masks during jetting operations.
