Job Title: Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (TPWP) at NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Talking Therapies

We have an exciting opportunity starting Autumn 2024 to join our team covering Worcester, Wyre Forest, Malvern, Redditch, & Bromsgrove.

If you're successful, you'll be enrolled in the Trainee PWP programme with the University of Birmingham.

Upon completing the course, you'll receive a postgraduate certificate in lower intensity psychological interventions, allowing you to work as a PWP within the trust permanently.

You'll also need to apply for entry to the PWP registration of either the British Psychological Society (BPS) or The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Screen patients for suitability and provide step 2 interventions based on CBT principles.
  • Work closely with a Senior PWP for supervision and support.
  • Participate in further training provided by the University of Birmingham.
  • Focus on delivering excellent patient care and cutting-edge Low Intensity Psychological Interventions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners for effective communication and partnership working.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 12 months of direct clinical experience with common mental health problems.
  • Demonstrate high standards in written communication and IT skills.

Qualifications:

  • M Level Study (Postgraduate) Route or H Level Study (Graduate) Certificate Route with relevant experience.
  • English language proficiency requirements.

Knowledge:

  • Ability to apply learning in practice and develop therapeutic relationships.
  • Desirable: Understanding of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Clear and effective communication in English.
  • Self-reflective, open to supervision, and personal development.
  • Active in self-care.

Additional Criteria:

  • Respect for autonomy and confidentiality.
  • Travel may be required for university and office work, including remote working.
