Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established mid-tier accounting firm based in Ringwood, who are eager to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified Bookkeeper.


Role Responsibilities:

  • 2+ years of solid Bookkeeping experience from a similar accountancy practice.
  • Ability to take source documents through to initial trial balance.
  • Manage a portfolio of 1020 clients from a diverse range of industry sectors.
  • Ensure general bookkeeping is completed in a timely manner.
  • Monthly reporting.
  • Production of monthly management accounts.
  • Cash flow management and forecasts.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns, dealing with HMRC queries.
  • Purchase and sales ledger.
  • Xero and QBO, and Sage would be beneficial but not essential
  • Credit control.
  • Liaising with clients and their representatives/managers.

Person Responsibilities:

  • At least 2+ years' experience gained as a Bookkeeper/Senior Accounts Assistant working for a UK based accountancy practice.
  • Qualified or studying with a recognised qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA).
  • Working knowledge of Xero is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to thrive in a busy department.
  • Flexibility of approach as there will be lots of variety within the role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Active team player, but also able to work independently and on own initiative, depending on the task at hand.
