  • The Northumberland Peat Partnership is offering a summer survey contract (45 days a week at £12/hour) to undertake peatland survey work alongside our survey team. Much, but not all, of the work will be around the source of the River Coquet in the Cheviots.

Ideally, contractors will have some knowledge of peatland habitats/NVCs and be familiar with common bog plant / moss species that occur on the moors, though some training can be provided.

Hydrological monitoring work may also be supported by contractors.


Many locations are on remote uplands sites, with difficult terrain and changeable weather conditions and contractors are expected to be well equipped for these conditions - i.e.

own PPE, first aid kit, food/drink and an appropriate level of fitness.
