About the role:

This is a key role within the Asset Structuring team, which is part of the growing Group Investment function at Monument Re. This role will be key to delivering the most efficient asset structures from both a Bermudian and local regulatory perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior member of the asset structuring team within Monument Investments tasked with optimizing assets for their return on capital under both Bermudian and European insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Lead on implementing a variety of techniques used to achieve this, such as obtaining ratings for assets, structuring into senior and equity notes or wrapping the asset to improve its rating.
  • Understanding, modelling and reporting the outcome of proposed structures prior to their implementation.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with the Investment Markets team and wider function to implement agreed structuring solutions.
  • Support Group and local teams in the continuous enhancement of investment processes and controls.
  • Contribute to the effective risk management of the investment and actuarial functions

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in an investment bank or insurance company's asset structuring or quantitative modelling team.
  • Strong background in fixed income interest rate and asset models and asset structuring.
  • Knowledge of rating agency models and European and Bermudian insurance capital requirements.
  • In addition, understanding of rate hedging, VIF hedging, and hedging embedded options would be advantageous.
  • Possess highlevel programming language skills, particularly Python would be an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across a range of stakeholders within the Group.
  • This role would suit a person who will exemplify the experience and character needed of a dynamic team player who is analytical, energetic and passionate with a positive attitude.
