DevOps Engineer

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Sepura Full time

Fancy being part of a collaborative, forward-thinking global leader in critical communication solutions? Here at Sepura Ltd., we are currently recruiting for a
Senior DevOps Engineer to join our expanding team.

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between development and operations.

With a few years of hands-on experience in DevOps practices, you will be responsible for automating and streamlining our software development and deployment processes, ensuring a seamless and efficient flow from conception to production.

Come and join Sepura Ltd at an exciting time of growth, and progress your career within this innovative technology company, based in Waterbeach, Cambridge.

Your Role
You will be joining a small, diverse, and close-knit team.

Everyone has their part to play and this is very much a "hands-on" role, where you will be expected to muck in and join the fray.

The work falls into two distinct parts.

On the one hand, there is the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems, keeping them up-to-date, finding out why they have gone wrong, helping to diagnose why users can no longer log in, etc., etc.

On the other hand, we are looking to the future: deciding how we can make the best use of our existing infrastructure; what we need to have in place 1-, 2-, or 5-years down the line; whether some tasks are best handled on our own servers, or whether this processing would be better moved into the cloud; which tasks can be automated, and which are best handled manually; determining whether our data and infrastructure is secure as we would like.

If you are enthusiastic, thrive in a team environment, want to do your bit, look to the future, and don't mind buying the coffees occasionally, then you might be just the person we need.

Your Day to Day
Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the world.

Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges.

There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across the business.

  • Technical engineering activities you will be responsible for include:
  • **Designing, implementing, and maintaining of CI/CD pipelines.
**_The establishment and management of automated continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline our software release cycles._
-
Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
**_Using infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure resources, ensuring consistency and reliability._
-
Management and monitoring of infrastructure performance.
**_Implement and use tools to monitor infrastructure health, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimise resource usage._
- **Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues.
**_Effective diagnosis and resolution of infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining system stability._
- **Collaboration with development and IT teams.
**_Foster close collaboration with development teams and with IT to allow for easy communications and cross-team understanding._
- **Contribute to the continuous improvement of the DevOps process.
**_Continuously evaluate and improve the DevOps process, identifying areas for automation and optimisation to enhance efficiency and reduce delivery times._
This job is office-based and does not typically involve travel.
