Wood is currently looking for an I&C Engineer/Technical Authority to join our Operations and Maintenance (Operated Assets) Business Unit working on both of our Duty Holder Gas Terminals in the UK – SAGE at St Fergus (owned by Ancala) and CATS at Teesside (owned by Kellas Midstream).

The Operated Assets Service Line is an exciting and expanding area of our business and as an engineer in a duty holder role you are essentially performing a more traditional client role managing the asset as if it was our own. Between the above two mentioned assets we transport (by subsea pipeline) and process about 30% of the North Sea's gas production so the accurate fiscal metering of this gas both offshore (by our clients) and onshore (by our own teams) is of upmost importance.

If you are looking for a long term / secure role making Operational decisions and are a degree qualified engineer (or working towards this) with great inter-personal communication and influencing skills then this could be an opportunity for you. The role will require some occasional travel between both the sites but can primarily be performed from one location.

The existing site Engineering Team includes a number of I&C biased Engineer's. More specifically within the existing team there are roles for Instrumentation, Systems (DCS), Telecoms, Cyber, and Metering specialism.

Due to some recent changes and the existing demographics the site is now looking to recruit an experienced I&C Engineer to strengthen the team and be part of the long-term succession role is a site based role and is all about Plant Engineering Support, Maintenance Strategy, Long Term Asset Management and Compliance. It is not a Design Office role. Given the small size of the site team the role holder will be required to work in both a pure discipline engineering capacity and also a project engineering capacity as some small projects / MoC's will need to be managed by the role holder.

Candidates with some experience of Metering / Analytical (flow measurement) and Cyber would potentially be preferred.

Qualifications:

Hold an Engineering or Science Degree or perhaps be already working towards this.

Chartered engineer status is desirable but not essential.

Candidates backgrounds and experience will vary in different aspects of the I&C sub-disciplines. However within each of these sub-disciplines a strong candidate would have:

Metering & Analytical - knowledge of Fiscal, Environmental and Analytical Measurement principles of operation, primary measurement equipment (Orifice, USM, Coriolis), secondary measurement equipment (Pressure, temperature), Uncertainty Calculations, Flow computer systems, Flow measurement and Analytical instrumentation

Field Instrumentation – knowledge of pressure, temperature, level field applications and functional safety life cycle.

Systems (DCS) – knowledge of control and safety systems such as Emerson DeltaV and Schneider Triconex and alarm management.

Telecoms – SCADA, Networks, Line of Sight, Radio, Phones

Cyber – knowledge of OG86 and NIS-D regulations and hence the protection, detection and recovery aspects of managing cyber security.
