THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking a Machine Operative for our client based in Newton Aycliffe. The organisation employs 25 staff and has a £3m turnover. The business specialises in bespoke fabrications. This is a temp to perm opportunity following a successful probation period.

As a Machine Operative you will join a team on a shop floor and receive full training on guillotines and press machines along with training within the paint department. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills or jump start your career in manufacturing while gaining experience in a variety of operations within a fast paced manufacturing environment. The business has a guaranteed order book for the next 18 months and the business can provide job security due to its diverse client range.

THE ROLE
  • Operating general manufacturing machinery such as guillotines and press machines
  • Full training will be provided so prior experience is desirable but not essential

  • Assisting other departments and gaining valuable experience in all aspects of the fabrication process
  • Abiding by strict levels of H&S

  • The successful candidate will be working between the paint department and sheet metal department to aid manufacturing process
THE PERSON
  • Forklift license/experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Willingness to learn

  • Desire to develop skills in manufacturing such as machinery operations, painting & fitting
  • This role would suit someone with previous experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Relevant qualification would be desirable but not essential
  • Flexibility required to work business needs and help out with other departments during busy periods
