The Team

Sedgwick provides a full range of surveying services to our clients through our Building Consultancy Division.

These include the investigation and reporting on building defects, designing and procuring repairs, and undertaking full contract management duties, in relation to the repair of domestic and commercial properties.

The value of the repairs we manage can range from tens of thousands, to millions of pounds.

Our customers have typically suffered damage to their property due to an insured event, such as a fire, burst pipes, impact from a motor vehicle, or following significant flooding.

Our surveyors combine technical expertise with excellent customer service, to help property owners in need, when they need it most.

Our Graduate Programme


We are now starting the recruitment process for our 2023 graduate intake for those wishing to embark on an exciting and varied career with Sedgwick Building Consultancy.

You will join our highly successful team of home-based surveyors in the North-East/Yorkshire region, attaching to our Leeds office.

Working in partnership with the senior members of the team, the role will predominantly involve your development into a Chartered Surveyor, through a combination of on-the-job training and structured learning.

We will guide you through the RICS APC program to ensure you are ready for your final assessment.

More importantly, we'll ensure that you develop the broad range of skills that you will need to develop your career at Sedgwick as a Chartered Surveyor.

We'll ensure that you are equipped to handle the customer-facing aspects of the role; by understanding the challenging circumstances our clients are often faced with, and developing your ability to instill confidence in your own abilities through excellent customer service.


Extensive on the job training will be provided to enable you to deliver a comprehensive surveying service to home and business owners, loss adjusters and insurance companies.

You will have regular contact with all stakeholders, so your strong communication and personal skills will be paramount to your success in this position.

You will have/will be:

  • 2:1 or above at degree level relating to building construction An ability to empathise with people who are in a life altering situation Have the ability to do your job well under pressure A desire to develop as a Chartered Surveyor Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Excellent organisational skills An analytical mind with an attention to detail Strong problemsolving skills.
