About the role
We're searching for a Team Leader to join one of our Cafes, where you'll experience a vibrant and dynamic environment. If you're enthusiastic about delivering top-notch customer service, possess a proactive and collaborative attitude, and excel in teamwork, this role is perfect for you. Your main tasks will involve supporting the Manager, meeting business objectives, coaching and training team members, and setting a high standard of customer service.

You will be responsible for
Although specific duties will be adjusted according to Tesco's evolving requirements, the following outline the core responsibilities of the role:
  • Maintaining operational and safety standards to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Setting an exemplary customer experience to lead by example.
  • Managing cafe opening and closing, overseeing operations in the Manager's absence.
  • Recognizing and appreciating team members for their exceptional service.
  • Becoming extensively familiar with our menu and assisting the team in doing the same.
  • Optimizing sales by ensuring proper staff placement.
  • Providing Health & Safety and Food Safety training to team members.
  • Assisting the Cafe Manager in coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Continuously seeking ways to enhance customer service.
  • Fostering an inclusive environment where all colleagues feel respected, valued, and secure.
You will need
Requirements:
  • Background in hospitality, with experience as a Team/Shift Leader.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety protocols.
Personal
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Confidence in initiating improvements in work processes.
