Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting a CNC setter to join their manufacturing company based in the Bridgend area.
Our client is a busy manufacturer. As such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team. This role requires a high level of attention, accuracy and a previous working history in this role is desirable.Start Date:
ASAP- 2 months
Shifts: 7:30am-5pm Monday to Friday
Pay rate:
£16
Responsibilities
- To ensure that start and finish times of work and breaks are adhered to
- To ensure daily booking cards are completed accurately
- To seek work at all times and look to operate more than one machine whenever possible
- To ensure all broken or worn tools are reported to the tool stores.
- To return all fixtures, vices etc to storage after use.
- To report any problems, machine breakdowns etc. to the Section Leader.
- To keep their work area clean/tidy at all times.
- To set and operate CNC Turning / Milling machines and conventional mills and lathes.
- Set and run times on routing cards are to be maintained or improved.
- To produce components on said machines in strict accordance with the drawing requirements
- Work to drawings/work instructions at all times
- All components are to be checked by operator before going to inspection for 1st off and /or final batch inspection.
- To ensure that all appropriate paperwork is completed accurately in order to maintain full traceability.
- Routing card and booking card
- Quantity complete and all scrap to be recorded.
- To conduct all the above tasks in line with the current Health and Safety Legislation.
- All safety equipment provided is to be worn at all times.
- Keep all areas clean/tidy and organised at all times
- All swarf and rubbish bins to be emptied daily.

- Able to follow strict Health and Safety procedures.
- Drive and energy combined with realistic ambition.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A sound manufacturing background with experience gained in machine shop practices.
- Good general education.
