Senior Mental Health Practitioner-eating Disorders

Are you a confident, enthusiastic, knowledgeable qualified mental health practitioner? Do you have experience and a passion for working with families, young people and eating disorders?

Our Sheffield CAMHS Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Team based at Centenary house is looking for you. We are looking for TWO senior mental health practitioners to compliment our specialist team. Our hours of service are Monday to Friday 900am till 500pm.

The role will include some aspects of working from home, participating in assessment clinics that are held twice a week as part of an MDT.

In this role the post holder will be required to hold a caseload and provide evidence based treatment to children who present with an Eating Disorder.

The post holders will support the staff team and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative.

They will supervise other staff members as required.

They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.

In return we can offer a very supportive team with a strong focus on MDT working. Our team consists of a team lead, paediatric medical lead, clinical nurse specialists, senior practitioners and specialist dietitian.

  • To provide a specialised service that includes assessment, treatment, advice and management of children and young people with complex eating disorders with a range of additional needs including neurodevelopmental, relationships, behavioural, sensory processing and social care needs.
  • To contribute assessment information and observations that form part of multidisciplinary diagnostic assessments for eating disorders.
  • To provide advice to other interagency professional staff and to provide clinical education and training to others including support staff and students.
  • To deliver individual work and case management relevant to the needs of the client group.
  • To independently manage a personal caseload of young people working without direct supervision.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and access the supervision, advice, training and support within the wider CAMHS service.
