Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

Full time hours to include weekends

General Manager - Garden Centre/Retail

Looking for a new challenge in retail or garden centre management? We're on the hunt for a skilled General Manager to lead a vibrant garden centre and café in Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • People Management: Lead and motivate the team, fostering a high-performance culture. Ensure staff engagement and development for top-notch customer service.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, maintain standards and consistency. Manage stock, ranging, and special orders. Conduct regular site walks for task prioritization and operational excellence.
  • Financial Management: Drive sales growth, improve margin profitability, and achieve KPIs.
  • Training and Development: Enhance skills and team collaboration through training.
  • General Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Integrity, honesty, and attention to detail
  • Work well under pressure and adapt to change
  • Good commercial judgment and computer skills

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in retail or garden centre management
  • Passion for motivating and leading teams
  • Proven track record of achieving KPIs
  • Confidence in handling HR matters
  • Technical understanding of gardening, plants, hospitality, and aquatics beneficial
