Overview:
We are looking to hire a Software Tester on a 12-month fixed term contract

We're looking for someone to join the Instrument Control Software team within the Discovery, Characterisation and Imaging group. You will be part of the team working on the manual testing of new product and maintenance releases. Our team is constantly exploring better methods to develop and test software using contemporary techniques and tools

This is an opportunity for you to explore/practise with a wide variety of software technologies and analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

As a Software Tester within our Instrument Controls Software team, your responsibilities would include:

  • Design, develop, implement and maintain test cases covering all aspects of the software.
  • Partner with software developers to improve product quality.
  • Provide supporting documentation in accordance with the software development processes and codes of practice.
  • Deliver software and technical support to internal and external users.
  • Seek opportunities for improved productivity, efficiency and quality.
  • Build strong working relationships with other groups.

Qualifications:
We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven Software testing experience.
  • Passionate about software testing which you can clearly convey by your actions and experiences.
  • Broad technical expertise.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Good communication and decisionmaking skills.
Any of the following experience would be desirable but not essential as training would be provided to you:

  • Testing software for analytical instrumentation.
