Role Description:

nAre you passionate about leading innovative hardware projects from concept to completion? We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager with a solid background in hardware engineering to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will drive the successful delivery of cutting-edge hardware initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams and leveraging your technical expertise to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.


As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development and execution of hardware projects, from initial planning through to final deployment.

Your responsibilities will encompass project scoping, cross-functional team alignment, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.


This position requires a deep understanding of hardware development processes, including electronic and mechanical design, prototyping, testing methodologies, market compliance and manufacturing.

Required skills / Experienc

e:
nBachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.nProven experience in hardware design, development, and manufacturing processesnUp to 3yrs experience of project managing complex hardware projects from initiation to completion; with prior experience of 5+ years in similar engineering environments, potentially filling different rolesnProficiency in project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and budget control with relevant experience using industry standard software tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Confluence and collaboration tools such as SharePointnProficiency in agile project management methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban would be beneficial

.nAbility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment and toggle between strategic planning and operational deliverynAbility to engage technically to have a good understanding of challenges facing the R&D teamnProject Management qualification/membership (Prince2/MAPM) would be beneficial

Responsibilities:

Integrated Project Planning:

nDevelop cohesive project plans that integrate hardware and firmware development efforts.nEnsure alignment of hardware and firmware milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.nEnsure internal technical support requirements to and from other departments (but related to hardware projects or deliveries) are clearly captured, planned in and followed-up to completion.nWhere applicable, implement agile methodologies that complement the Hardware development cycle, adapting to evolving requirements to ensure optimal delivery.nCross-Functional Resource Allocation:nWorking with the Head of departments, Coordinate resource allocation across the hardware team to optimise collaboration and efficiency.nFacilitate clear communication and shared priorities to maximize team productivity.


nTechnical Integration Oversight:
nDrive seamless integration between hardware and other teams' deliveries (i

e:
firmware, system engineering, product, ...) throughout the project lifecycle; with specific focus on early testing and validation stagesnFoster collaboration between hardware engineers and firmware developers to address technical dependencies and requirements.

nJoint Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
nCollaboratively identify and address cross-disciplinary risks whilst developing mitigation strategies that consider all stakeholders

nStakeholder Alignment and Communication:


nIn conjunction with the technical leads, serve as a point of contact for key external suppliers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring timely delivery of hardware components and services.nFoster strong communication channels between all R&D teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and progress.nEngage stakeholders from all domains to facilitate understanding and consensus on technical decisions.


nIntegrated Budget Control:


nWith input from relevant stakeholders, pull together development budgets and their justification to get them approved by the business.nMonitor project budgets comprehensively, considering expenditures across hardware and firmware development.nIdentify cost-saving opportunities and resource efficiencies through cross-functional collaboration.
