As a Management Accountant at Longhurst Group, you will play a vital role in providing essential accounting support to the parent company and subsidiaries, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial information in line with relevant Financial Reporting Standards.

Your responsibilities will be key in assisting the Group and stakeholders in making well-informed decisions based on the group's financial health.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in monthly budget holder meetings to discuss financial positions and variance analysis.
  • Collaborating with budget holders to establish annual budgets.
  • Working with budget holders to complete quarterly forecasting.
  • Producing monthly management accounts for the Group and subsidiaries.
  • Engaging with external auditors and contributing to the preparation of annual accounts.

To succeed in the role of Management Accountant, a strong finance background is essential, encompassing financial / management accounts. Effective communication skills are also necessary to convey complex information to stakeholders.

This role presents an opportunity for individuals from various sectors like public services, manufacturing, or other commercial fields to broaden their accounting expertise in a new sector.

The Management Accountant role at Longhurst Group is offered on a 9-month fixed-term basis, combining office and remote work, with a requirement to spend at least one day per week in either the Boston or Peterborough office for collaboration.

A significant portion of the Finance team also operates in a hybrid manner, primarily working across the Boston or Peterborough offices but frequently collaborating in the Boston office.
