ScotSTAR is a national service, within the Scottish Ambulance Service that provides safe transfer for some of the sickest patients within NHS Scotland.

The clinical teams transport patients, from babies to adults by road and air.

An integral element of the ScotSTAR team is the Neonatal & Paediatric Service, which is embarking on a period of transformational change.

The Neonatal Service will have a key role in supporting the implementation of Best Start, the Scottish Governments plan for improving maternity and neonatal care in Scotland.

The Paediatric service has gone through a period of increased demand and as a result requires to be redesigned to meet the future demand.

An opportunity has arisen to join the ScotSTAR Senior Management Team at this exciting time.

The post holder will report to the General Manager for ScotSTAR and will have responsibility for developing and implementing service changes which focus on the delivery of high quality, safe and efficient patient centered services to meet a range of performance targets.


With strong influencing and leadership qualities you will require to evidence significant experience in operational management in a health care or equivalent complex environment.

You will have the ability to inspire confidence and respect to lead and deliver in a demanding environment. Additional key to success will be the ability to encourage initiative, individual and collectively as well as open communication.
This will be an permanent position with the ScotSTAR Team.
