Job Summary

Following the Derby and Derbyshire ICB staff restructure, an important senior role is now available within the Pharmacy Directorate Team, a key part of the Medical Directorate. In this role, you will provide leadership to an experienced Pharmacy Team as the organization transitions into its next phase as an ICB. You will collaborate with the broader healthcare system to integrate pharmacy services and optimize medication usage.

We are looking for a skilled Pharmacist with substantial leadership experience, including team management, strategic planning, financial oversight, and building strong stakeholder relationships.

  • Support the strategic development of pharmaceutical services to align with the goals of the Integrated Care Board and the system IPMO Board
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Directorate Team
  • Act as an Assistant Director Lead in the evolving local commissioning structure across Derbyshire

Main Duties of the Job

The role involves overseeing a wide range of specialized disciplines that require advanced knowledge and expertise. Responsibilities include formulating pharmacy and medication policies and strategies based on professional insights.

Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Pharmacy to lead the Pharmacy Directorate team, ensuring cohesion and effectiveness across various facets such as Governance, Implementation, and Performance.

Provide strategic leadership to enhance the quality and cost-effectiveness of medication management and prescriptions within the health system. Take the lead on specific functions and projects.

  • Interpret national guidance to develop and implement policies that ensure compliance with regulations
