About the role Detailed job description and main responsibilities- To offer a family-based short and long-term care service, which meets the needs of SEND children, young people and their families.


  • To ensure that all our work is undertaken in an antidiscriminatory way and operates within the Social Model of Disability.
  • To offer SEND children and young people a Carer/Home Support Worker (HSW) who is able to meet their cultural, racial, religious and linguistic backgrounds.
  • To ensure that Carers/HSW are able to offer appropriate care for the child's particular additional needs.
  • To provide support and training to Carers/HSWs to enable them to carry out their task effectively.
  • To ensure that the child's family and the Carer/HSWs can work together with the child to meet his/her needs and promote his/her interests and abilities by contributing to an agreed set of Outcomes.
  • To offer the child an opportunity to socialise and to develop their independence outside of their immediate family and to participate in their Short Break.
  • To work in partnership with parents, both in relation to their own child and also in developing the service more generally.

Skills Requirement:

  • Experience of using financial data systems, such as Dynamics 365 (not mandatory, training will be provided).
  • Willing to support and attend participation events with SEND children and young people such as our yearly Winter party etc.
  • Administrative support with foster & shortbreak carers & recruitment initiatives/events and working alongside colleagues at community events.
  • First point of contact for Carers, parents and communications.
  • Experience of budget management and monitoring (support will be provided).
  • Good allround administrative experience
  • IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
