About us
Camden is listening to everyone, including you.

We're giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we're not just home to the UK's fast-growing economy. We're home to the most important conversations happening today. And we're making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.
Here's where you can help decide a better future for us all

About the team

Camden Adult Community Learning (ACL) provides a route into learning for those adults most in need of developing their skills, whether that's to get a job, stay active and well, or become more involved in their local community.

The role
This is a fantastic opportunity to play your part in making Camden a more digitally inclusive community.

You'll plan, teach and assess groups of adult learners on the Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ), both online and in the community.

You might also design and teach innovative 'first steps' digital skills courses across a range of community settings.

You'll support adult learners with a range of support needs to develop the digital skills they need for work and life, and you'll help to move them on towards further employment and training opportunities.

You'll produce timely, detailed and accurate documentation such as Schemes of Work and Individual Learning Plans, and you'll collaborate with other tutors to develop your teaching, learning and assessment practice.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

About you
You're an outstanding tutor with an approach to teaching, learning and assessment which is innovative, inclusive, participative and empowering.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity its essential you hold a recognised UK teaching qualification for the adult education sector, e.g.

L3 Award in Education & Training (or PTLLS), L4 Certificate in Education & Training (or CTLLS), L5 Diploma in Education & Training (or DTLLS), or a PGCE.

You will have recent experience of preparing learners for exams to gain a digital skills qualification, ideally the Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ).

You will have a detailed understanding of teaching and assessing externally recognised qualifications and working within awarding body requirements.

You might also have skills in teaching creative digital media such as web design, photography and video, or in teaching employability skills.

You're ambitious for your learners, and for what they can achieve.

You're skilled at providing support to adults with a range of support needs, including those with English as a second language.

Your approach to planning, assessing and recording learning is both timely and meticulous, with an understanding of RARPA processes as well as of the requirements of external accreditation.

You enjoy building mutually supportive relationships with community-based partners, and you relish the opportunity to collaborate and share resources with your colleagues.

Working for Camden

We're ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit.
