Optical Assistant mainly based in our Lincoln Branch and some holiday cover in Sleaford.

Recruiting for our Independent family run practice.

Saturday work required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reception
  • Admin
  • Assist optometrists and opticians in providing excellent patient care
  • Perform tests and measurements, such as field of vision and OCT scans
  • Frame advisor
  • Maintain accurate and organised patient records
  • Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage
  • Assist with frame selection and fitting
  • Order and maintain inventory of eyewear and contact lenses
  • Schedule appointments and handle administrative tasks as needed

Experience:

  • Previous experience as an optical assistant or in a similar role is preferred
  • Knowledge of ocular anatomy and common eye conditions is a plus
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures for lens fabrication is desirable

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and record keeping
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Proficiency in using optical equipment, such as lensometers and visual field analyzers
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
