Job summary:

Defence Academy SO3 Events has responsibility for:

  • Delivery of all UK pan Academy events for the Defence Academy.
  • Engagement with wider Defence to plan, manage and deliver an Events Programme.
  • Design, develop and manage income generation propositions for use of facilities at Shrivenham.

Job description:

  • Coordinate, manage and deliver the Defence Academy Events Programme, liaise with Defence Academy components to identify the essential resources/workforce requirement for wider Defence Events, and support coordination, planning and execution of the Graduation Ceremony.
  • Seek and respond to incoming generation opportunities for the use of facilities at Shrivenham, design, develop and manage those said opportunities.
  • Maintain a forecast of events and management stats to identify usage, volume and frequency of events and publish a forecast of all events to the Defence Academy.

The post holder is responsible for:

  • The programming, planning and delivery of multiple concurrent events across the DefAc site.
  • They are responsible for liaison between different departments across the site, including gate security, catering, room booking, facilities management, etc.
  • It requires engagement with stakeholders from within and external to the DefAc.
  • Many of the events involve senior personnel from other MOD Departments as well as from Other Government Organisations.

Person specification:

  • Experience and delivery of events and visits.
  • Event Management.
  • Customer Relationship Management.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • IT Skills, including wordprocessing, PowerPoint and Spreadsheets.
  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
