CAMHS has an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to step into an established role within a diverse and experienced team.

CAMHS team has a base in Redbridge.


The CAMHS Practitioner role is to support the development and implementation of a range of interventions within the Thrive Model as indicated by CAMHS and NICE guidance.


The role will include completing assessment, treatment and outcome measures to track progress and working within a multi agency framework.

This post would suit clinicians with good experience in working with young people who present with complexity and significant levels of distress, working with the wider systems including education, social care and family/carers.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London


This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).


  • Skilled in assessment, formulation, management and delivery of therapy to people experiencing mental health difficulties in the community and hospital settings.
  • Experienced in assessing and managing clinical risk, drawing on dynamic case formulation skills and working collaboratively with service users to agree their treatment and safety plans.
  • Possess a current Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Counselling, Psychotherapy or equivalent professional qualification and be skilled and experienced in the delivery of evidencebased approaches to therapy (including DBT/CBT/Systemic & Creative therapies).
  • Having knowledge, understanding and experience of working with the legal frameworks which relate to the care and treatment of children and young people, with particular reference to Children Act 1989, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended in 200
  • Are flexible in practice and approach and able to carry out high quality Assessments and Risk Assessments and deliver talking therapy and aforementioned evidencebased informed intervention.
  • Able to formulate specific care and treatment plans, providing skilled and specialist interventions and care to young people with complex mental health problems. Completing detailed written assessments in a timely manner.
  • Have a passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality care to young people and their families.
  • The use and management of clients electronic records.
