Duties of the Occupational Therapist:
- To take a lead responsibility for some complex assessments and undertake other complex assessments jointly with Community Care Assessors or Social Workers.
- To offer specialist advice to the team on clients' functional, psychological and physical abilities using own professional knowledge base.
- To take responsibility to ensure that appropriate parts of service packages (eg equipment and adaptations) are processed and monitored, in liaison with other departments.
- To provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal.
- To undertake assessments and write reablement plans, monitor outcomes and provide professional support to reablement workers.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Recent NHS experience
- Registered with the HCPC
