About us:


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Estates Team at Oxfordshire County Council working as a Senior Property Officer.

You will be joining a dynamic and supportive team of property professionals with a passion to deliver excellent service to our customers.


About the role & Key Responsibilities:
The role will mainly involve professional activities associated with Landlord & Tenant management of the Council's property assets to:

  • Ensure revenue is maximised through the negotiation and implementation of lease renewals, lease restructures, rent reviews etc.
  • Provide appropriate information for the maintenance of proper estate records.
  • Prepare reports and briefing papers in relation to project work and to instruct legal.
  • Provide professional advice to colleagues and others on property related matters.
  • Work as part of a team to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and tenants.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the Council's service / business needs.
  • Ensure service charges are implemented as appropriate.
  • Ensure proper compliance with Landlord and Tenant covenants.
  • To manage, direct, motive and mentor administrative in their duties
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the post as required.

About you:

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified to MRICS standard to ensure that services are provided in a professional manner and in accordance with the standards and rules of conduct of the RICS.
  • Extensive recent experience performing a similar role ideally with local authority experience with good professional knowledge over a range of properties.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and report writing ability to provide clear information and advice on property matters to colleagues and the general public.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects to deadline.
  • The ability to work under direction but able to use own initiative as required.
  • Proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
  • Full UK Driving licence.
