Role Summary
At The Backlot, we believe in crafting extraordinary experiences, and our kitchen is at the heart of that creation.

We are seeking a dedicated and diligent Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team and contribute to the seamless operation of our kitchen.


Duty and Responsibility

Dishwashing and Sanitisation:

  • Responsible for the efficient washing of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area.

Support Kitchen Operations:

  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and ingredient portioning.
  • Keep the kitchen stocked with clean utensils, pots, and pans for smooth culinary operations.

Waste Management:

  • Dispose of kitchen waste and recycling materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor and empty trash bins regularly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ensure areas around the kitchen and external waste disposal area to meet high expectations of cleanliness.

Kitchen Organisation:

  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.
  • Ensure that cleaning materials and supplies are wellstocked and readily available.

Assist with Deliveries:

  • Receive and store kitchen deliveries, ensuring accuracy in quantities and quality of items.
  • Support in unpacking and storing food and supplies in designated areas.

Adherence to Health and Safety:

  • Follow health and safety regulations to create a safe working environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, breakages, or safety hazards to the kitchen management promptly.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to maintain a harmonious and efficient workflow.

About You

  • Previous experience in a kitchen porter role is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle physical demands of the job.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to assist in various kitchen tasks.
