Jewson as part of the
STARK Group. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe.

So, what are we looking for?_


This role has a strong focus on customer service as well as working outside supervising the Timber Yard, so this role is great for someone who loves to build relationships with customers, has strong leadership qualities and enjoys working outdoors.

Full workwear and PPE will be supplied for you.

Experience we are looking for:

  • Experience working with timber mill machinery
  • The ability to lead, coach and develop a team
  • Demonstrable customer service focus with a proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Confident working both outdoors, with good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Forklift experience would be preferred although training can be provided

Hours of Work:
Full time - Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm and every 2nd Saturday 8am-12pm.

So, what will you be doing?_


As a
Timber Yard Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting management by supervising the timber yard in order to deliver an excellent customer experience.

You will also be expected to make sure your team are fully compliant with best practice Health and Safety processes whilst working towards improvement and targets.

This role means you'll be at the heart of our operations

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Fulfilling customer timber orders in a timely fashion to deliver an excellent customer experience, working alongside the yard team
  • Supervising the team to deliver an excellent customer experience and work towards branch sales and profit targets
  • Constantly work to improve performance to increase mill throughput and reduce stock damage
  • Ensuring the team check incoming and outgoing products against Proof of Delivery and complete all required documentation
  • Minimise costs by reducing waste, ensuring the mill works efficiently whilst not compromising on quality
  • Ensure colleagues are fully trained to and confident to complete all relevant checks out on all machinery
