What it's like to work here The Hughenden, West Wycombe and Central Chilterns portfolio comprises 3 mansion houses, 2 villages and 2820 acres of countryside made up of priority habitats including lowland calcareous grassland, lowland beech and yew woodland alongside tenanted farmland,set within the spectacular Chilterns AONB.


You'll be reporting to the Area Ranger, as part of a dynamic team of 6 rangers and 2 gardeners who make up the outdoors team.

You'll also be required to work weekend days on a rota with the other members of the team.


What you'll be doing With your endless passion for our work, you'll help with the protection and care of important habitats, wildlife, property and machinery, and your passion will encourage other to love this beautiful place as much as you do.

We want you to engage with visitors,making time to talk to them, not rushing away to the next task.

As an easily identifiable member of the Ranger team, on your best day you'll be crafting lasting memories for everyone.


So, whether you're maintaining our green spaces to assisting with guided visitor walks, through to delivering a wide range of engaging visitor experiences, no two days will be the same.

You'll also share and promote the work that we do here, ensuring specialplaces like these are here to be both protected and enjoyed by everyone for ever.

This will see you responding to queries and explaining the value of the work being undertaken.

After all, your passion and dedication could fire the imagination that makes avisitor become a supporter for the rest of their life.

Who we're looking for We'd love to hear from you, if you have;

  • Full, clean driving licence
  • A willingness to work with, and support, volunteers
  • Practical experience in land, conservation and access management
  • Some experience of delivering engagement activities that help build or strengthen visitors' connections with nature and the outdoors
  • Familiarity with machinery/equipment including, chainsaw, brushcutter, PA1/PA6 spraying, tractor driving
