An exciting opening has arisen for a Carer Support Worker to join The East Riding Carers Support Service. The successful post holder will be based at the Carers Centre in Beverley.

If you feel able to take on the challenge and have the skills, knowledge, experience - and enthusiasm, then we would really like to hear from youThe role involves working with informal (unpaid) carers in the community providing advice, information, signposting and support ensuring carers are recognised valued and continue to be supported and are able to make informed choices.

Working in accordance with the Care Act 2014 you will undertake person centred carer's 'My Conversation'/Assessments, assist in the creation of carers support plans and monitoring and reviewing support thereafter.

You will also participate in the 'duty rota' which can involve dealing with urgent situations.

In line with the carer's agenda you may be expected to attend events on behalf of the East Riding Carers Support Service to promote and raise carer awareness across the East Riding.


For this role you should have excellent communication skills, an ability to manage your time effectively, working under pressure and being flexible in your approach are essential requirements of the role.

You will also possess excellent written and IT skills and be expected to input data on the adult information database which is essential in collating data for the performance agenda as well as compiling a complete individual electronic social care record.

You will also be required to access and obtain information from the internet.


Performance expectations are set for the team as a whole and on an individual basis in order to meet demand and enhance the customer journey.

All new staff will receive a comprehensive induction, regular supervision, employee development reviews and training opportunities. The team currently operates between Monday and Friday although the role requires the ability to be flexible.
