Traditional GIS software was too complex and costly, requiring extensive customisation which Iventis now seamlessly addresses.Today, Iventis powers events of all sizes, from complex, major global events including the Special Olympics World Games 2023, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Farnborough International Airshow, Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, F1 GP circuits, Dubai Expo 2020, COP26 UN Climate Change Conference, to smaller, local road races and festivals.
About the RoleAt Iventis, our software engineers solve a wide range of interesting technical problems that enable us to build high quality software products that our customers love to use.
You'll join our friendly, collaborative software engineering team and get involved in all aspects of delivering our next generation of mapping technologies, building new features as well as improving and bug fixing existing ones.
We are looking for a junior software engineer with a particular interest in learning about our back end event driven microservice infrastructure and the technologies that support it.
You will have the opportunity to learn about and develop usingmodern technologies such as Asp.Net 7, Docker, Postgres, Infrastructure as a code (such as Terraform and CloudFormation), and AWS services such as SNS, SQS,S3,Lambda, CloudFront,API Gateway to name a few).
We are also always on the lookout to test out new technologies that might give our product an advantage and you will be involved in helping to select these too.
Person RequirementsA strong interest technology, and desire to learn more.
Hard working, self-motivated with a strong focus on teamwork, but the trustworthiness and drive to be able to maintain high standards of work while working remotely.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.Enthusiasm, creativity and a positive attitude.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
A minimum of a 2:1undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
Has either worked in a professional capacity on software projects, contributing heavily to the back end or infrastructure work, or has significant demonstratable skills obtained from working in projects at University or in their own time.
Has an interest in participating in all aspects of software engineering process beyond coding including, DevOps support, and testing activities.
