The Supply Chain DC Planner will work alongside the Category Supply Manager and Supply Chain TC Planner to deliver category stock plans, implement product life cycle and promotional strategies with the objective of fulfilling our "100% available from stock" promise.

The role is also responsible for optimising our DC replenishment systems, raising all orders and managing supplier relationships and performance.

Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you'll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for placing orders into the distribution network ensuring we have the right level of stock in the right place at the right time
  • Define and manage the system parameters and forecasts by reviewing current sales rates, and adjusting our stock profile and ordering patterns accordingly
  • Influence stock levels for new products and continually review these making changes where appropriate
  • Chase bookings at DC and vendors for outstanding orders
  • Effective management of system alerts
  • Implement event and promotional plans provided by the Category Supply Manager within the system, to ensure orders are raised appropriately
  • Manage the master data for products with STEP
  • Prioritise stock requirements according to business needs
  • Optimise stock and distribution centre availability alongside costs ensuring that our day to day operational capacity is not exceeded
  • Manage the exit of deleted skus and ranges in line with the Category Supply Manager
  • Manage key internal relationships with buying, marketing, and operations.
  • Form effective relationships with suppliers, monitor supplier performance ensuring compliance and react effectively and decisively with nonconformance

Required skills & experience

  • Dealing with key stakeholders whether customers, suppliers or staff from other departments
  • Experience in a role which required working on multiple tasks, to tight deadlines whilst being comfortable working in a fast paced and highpressured environment
  • Prior supply chain, inventory, logistics or commercial experience preferably within a retail environment
  • Proven skills in data analysis able to understand and interpret financial, sales and other commercial information
  • Experienced in problem solving able to anticipate and highlight issues, and take decisive corrective action, working within established procedures
  • Range of communication skills able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences both orally and in writing
  • Excel skills (pivot tables/v look ups) and numerically competent
  • Managing line level sales and demand forecasts in a Retail environment
