Position Purpose:

Our Service Drivers play a crucial role in the transport team, handling the collection, destruction, movement, and unloading of confidential wastepaper and electronic devices for clients in professional, financial, and retail sectors.

As the primary point of contact with customers, Service Drivers represent Shred-it and are expected to deliver exceptional service with a focus on confidentiality, courtesy, and environmental awareness.

Key Job Activities:

  • Work 40 hours a week over 4 days and serve as a key customer contact.
  • Arrive promptly and in uniform at the branch's designated start time daily.
  • Check assigned truck's client allocation for the day's route.
  • Conduct a thorough check of the vehicle using the circle checklist.
  • Address any issues found during the circle check and report significant problems.
  • Collect all necessary documentation for the day's tasks.
  • Depart from the yard within 20 minutes of clocking in.
  • Park the truck properly upon arrival.
  • Greet the client contact professionally and note any updates.
  • Safely remove customer materials while adhering to security protocols.
  • Provide and explain the certificate of destruction to the client.
  • Record completion time and loaded materials on the truck.
  • Unload or park the vehicle following branch procedures.
  • Attend debriefings as required.
  • Document any changes in service details on the Driver's Information Sheet.
  • Return handheld devices and equipment at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure accurate clock out.

Education:

Preferred Education: GCSE

Experience (EMEAA):

All Service Drivers need a valid LGV HGV C Category driving license, current drivers CPC, and digital tachograph.

Prior experience in driving or customer-facing roles is beneficial.

Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented and conscientious work ethic.

Self-motivated with good time management abilities.

Ability to follow security and safety protocols.

Proficient in spoken English with clear written communication skills.

Certifications and/or Licenses:
