We are seeking a dedicated Grant Officer to support the design and delivery of grant processes for the Culture pillar of the Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund (CGLEF).

This is a fixed term role until 31 March 2025.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborating closely with the Strategic Lead for Culture and Heritage to design and deliver various grant programs, ensuring high levels of compliance.
  • Providing expert advice on grant processes, supporting risk assessment, decisionmaking, and internal compliance processes.
  • Managing budgets and contractual arrangements for relevant parts of the CGLEF program, specifically focusing on grants.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of CGLEF through monitoring, data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, responding to queries, and ensuring timely and accurate advice to applicants.
  • Coordinating with the WMCA Communications team to advertise grant opportunities, engage target groups, and raise awareness of opportunities.
  • Engaging with key regional and national stakeholders, including WMCA Cultural Officers Group and Cultural Leadership Board.

About you

  • Proven experience in grant administration, project management, and stakeholder engagement, ideally within the culture, creative or heritage sector.
  • Prior experience in compliance and risk management within a public sector context.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage budgets and contracts efficiently, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Knowledge of the main cultural policy agendas and their significance
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and community development.
